2020 JueDai Taipei International Dance Festival

The “JueDai Taipei International Dance Festival(J.T.I.D.F)” is our large-scale plan for 2020, which will be a platform where a greater amount of dance enthusiasts can come together to share their knowledge and talents. This Festival will contain two dancing programs over two weekends in two theaters in Taipei, Taiwan.

 

The first program “T.I.D.E”

The abbreviation of Taipei International Dance Exploration — “TIDE” — also holds the meaning of "wave", "trend" and "mainstream" in English. With this context in mind, for 2019 JueDai invited three foreign groups from Spain, Mexico and the United States who hold the same enthusiasm and ideals as our company: they are artists who consistently strive to convey distinctive ideas and varied cultures through dance, with the goal being to communicate and share these ideas with the audience.

In 2020, we would like to invite 4 to 5 professional contemporary dance companies from different countries who have a high quality work they would like to present.

The second program “W.I.D.E”

The abbreviation of World International Dance Exploration — “WIDE” —meaning " a wide range of opinion" and " open to the full extent" in English, is the second program under JTIDF.

We hope to bring to the Taiwan audience an interpretation and expression of different cultures in dance trends, and also to use this gathering of artists to create a larger scale event that will promote international cultural exchange and diversified development of the dance environment here in Taiwan.

In this portion of the dance festival we will have an open call for different types of dance to participate (e.g. street dance, traditional dance, folk dance). We welcome artists, dance companies and choreographers, who, through their presentations show their culture, talent and creations to us.

It is our desire to draw and encourage more people to join the festival and have chances to know more about other artists while giving these visitors the opportunity to know more about this beautiful island — Taiwan.

Note:

1. There is no application fee.
2. We select works and decide the date and the theater to perform.
3. We will provide 4-5 days’ accommodation in Taipei.
4. 4.We will arrange for your airport-to-hotel transfer in Taiwan.
5. Meals will be included during rehearsals and performances in the theater.
